Troy Brown: Head Coach

Troy Brown, Head Coach Teaching gymnastics with great enthusiasm, motivation and knowledge, Coach Troy Brown has been in the sport for 14 years. He spent 6 of those years under the direction of the legendary Olympic coach, Bela Karolyi. Troy's vast experience ranges from managing gymnastics programs, directing nationally attended summer camps and hosting clinics in Texas, California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Indiana, and Nebraska.

Troy believes in teaching children life lessons. He recognizes that their time spent in the sport of gymnastics is only a small piece of the puzzle in life's big picture. His goal is to show kids that if you truly believe in something, you can achieve anything. He inspires children to develop the heart of a lion and to realize that their success is not achieved by ability alone, but through hard work and dedication. His energy is contagious and children of all ages remember their time spent in his recreational and team programs.

Ann Brown

Ann Goodwin Ann was a competitive gymnast as a child in Houston, Texas and continues her love of the sport as a certified NAWGJ professional judge for USA Women's Gymnastics. Ann will assist coach Troy with the competitive girl's team and developmental classes at GymACT. Her two children, Jacob age 10 and Faith age 6 are proud and excited about GymACT Gymnastics!

Joanne Krause

Joanne Krause Joanne grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. She has been personal training for 15 years working with clients of all ages and abilities.

While completing her degree, she worked with the University's athletes in designing and implementing their strength and conditioning programs as well as off-ice training for youth figure skaters in the Omaha community. In addition, she taught undergraduate classes in the Exercise Science Department while beginning her registered dietitian education.

In January 1997, Joanne made the big move to Texas to plan the opening of Bayside Fitness Center & Spa at Horseshoe Bay Resort. She trained clients and operated Bayside until late 2000. Joanne and her husband Terry have two children ages 8 and 22 months. In her spare time, just for fun, she enjoys organizing and training for road races and marathons including finishing the Boston Marathon.

Joanne is enthusiastic and happy to talk about exercise with anyone, any age, any stage of life!

Troy and Ann have a strong desire to build a gym with the philosophy of making gymnastics fun while building a solid athletic foundation that builds self esteem in children of all ages. Any coach or staff that they hire will follow these high standards.
